Woman arrested at Mar-a-Lago after entering secured zone, Palm Beach police say
Palm Beach police say a woman was arrested after entering the Mar-a-Lago security zone despite a prior trespass warning. According to a Palm Beach Police Department probable cause affidavit, officers responded to the club on Wednesday, Sept. 30, after U.S. Secret Service agents stopped the woman in a sweep-tent parking area inside the security perimeter.
The affidavit states the woman told Secret Service agents she had been invited to Mar-a-Lago by U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton. The Secret Service informed local police that she had been stopped inside the secured area and requested an arrest because Mar-a-Lago issued a written trespass warning to the woman on Sept. 23, the affidavit says.
Palm Beach police arrested the woman on a misdemeanor trespassing charge, according to the probable cause affidavit. The report records the encounter, the prior written warning from Sept. 23, and the Secret Service’s involvement in stopping the subject inside the security zone.
At this time the affidavit documents the charge and the circumstances leading to the arrest; the report attributes the statements about an invitation to the subject and lists the Secret Service and Palm Beach Police Department actions. No additional outcomes, injuries, or court results are indicated in the provided affidavit information.
