Widow sues Amazon, operators and pilots after Miami cargo plane overran runway, kll five
A wrongful-death lawsuit was filed by the wife of a man who died when an Amazon Air cargo jet overran Runway 30 at Miami International Airport on Sept. 6 and struck vehicles on and near airport property. The complaint names Amazon entities, the aircraft operator 21 Air LLC, the plane’s lessors and the two pilots, and alleges pilot error, inadequate training and unsafe use of a 32-year-old aircraft helped cause the crash. Five people were kll and five others were injured; the decedent was driving a van struck in the incident. The suit was filed in the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County as NTSB investigators prepare to interview the pilots and review the cockpit voice recorder transcript.
