Widow sues after Amazon cargo plane overruns runway, kll local driver
A wrongful-death lawsuit was filed this week after an Amazon Air cargo plane overran a runway at Miami International Airport and struck vehicles, kll a man who was driving a van near the airport. The complaint alleges the incident on Sunday involved pilot error, inadequate training and operation of a 32-year-old aircraft, and names Amazon Inc., Amazon Air Cargo, 21 Air LLC, the plane’s lessors and the two pilots as defendants. Attorneys for the family say the crash was preventable and are seeking accountability; the case was filed in the Circuit Court of the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County. The lawsuit will proceed through the civil court process as investigators and courts review the allegations and evidence. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
