Waco fire crews and the Waco-McLennan County Office of Emergency Management mobilized extra staffing and equipment in Waco ahead of forecasted heavy rain and potential flooding. The Fire Department said it set up additional staffing starting at noon and proceeding through Friday morning and redeployed high‑profile brush trucks and a boat crew to improve response in flooded areas.

Officials noted the city’s swift water team is staffed daily and that some Waco firefighters remain deployed out of the area. The county emergency office reported it is coordinating with city, county and regional partners while monitoring weather models.

Agencies cautioned residents to avoid flooded roads, prepare 48 to 72 hours of supplies, and expect possible stranded vehicles or slick streets. No specific rescues or flood warnings were documented in the report at the time of publication.
