Vehicle connected to northwest Miami-Dade hit-and-run that kll 10-year-old is in custody, no arrests yet

Miami-Dade police say detectives located the vehicle tied to a hit-and-run that struck two chldren on an electric bike in northwest Miami-Dade. Deputies responded about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday to the intersection of NW 7th Avenue and NW 117th Street, where an unknown driver turning left struck the chldren and then fled. Both victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition; authorities later confirmed a 10-year-old girl died. The MDSO Traffic Homicide Unit has the vehicle as part of its investigation, no arrests have been made, and investigators are urging the driver to surrender and asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
