Two teens charged after firearms fired during planned fight in Hialeah community

A confrontation in the Aquabella neighborhood shortly after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday ended with two 17-year-olds opening fire after allegedly bringing guns to a planned fistfight. Police launched a large response and conducted an hours-long search that put the neighborhood and a nearby school on lockdown while officers looked for additional suspects or possible victims. Officers detained several people the same day, and authorities made arrests the following morning; both teens face attempted second-degree murder charges and are expected to be prosecuted as adults. No injuries were reported, though at least one bullet struck an SUV involved in the incident. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
