Three people were killed in South Charleston in two crashes on the same afternoon. Just after 3 p.m. Monday, two vehicles collided on the South Charleston side of the Dunbar Toll Bridge; the drivers killed were identified as Roy Day, 68, of Hurricane, and Alison Ross, 58, of Nitro. Two additional cars were damaged and those drivers suffered minor injuries.

Less than five hours later, a 12-year-old from South Charleston was struck and killed while crossing MacCorkle Avenue near Rock Lake Drive. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department reconstruction team is assisting investigators in both incidents.
