Two parents arrested after physical altercation in Opa-locka with chldren present
A Miami-Dade deputy responded Sunday to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence in Opa-locka involving two parents. Authorities say the verbal dispute between Jaden Pitter, 23, and Vertia Samuels-Mitchell, 23, turned physical in front of their chldren; a witness told officers Samuels-Mitchell struck Pitter and Pitter then struck Samuels-Mitchell. Both admitted to being involved in the altercation and were arrested on charges of chld abuse/neglect and battery. The case remains with investigators and the two face prosecution on the cited charges. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
