Two elderly Miami residents arrested after police raid substance den in Allapattah
Miami police say detectives made an undercover Co. Caine purchase in August at a home in Allapattah, after which detectives returned Wednesday and conducted a SWAT raid at the same residence. Officers arrested Magdaleno Medina, 73, and Cesar Valdes, 89, at the home; police allege the location served as a substance den and the pair ran trafficking operations there. Investigators reported seizing more than 140 grams of Co. Caine, nearly 1,300 grams of Canna, a .38-caliber revolver and more than a dozen rounds. Police said Medina sold an undercover agent a baggie of Co. Caine for $60 during the August buy; authorities allege the two are involved in armed Co. Caine and Canna trafficking and face related charges. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
