Two died after motorcycle, SUV collide at SC-410 and SC-19 in Horry County

A motorcyclist and a passenger were died after a collision at the intersection of SC-410 and SC-19 in Horry County. Troopers say crews responded around 8:00 p.m. to the crash; the two people from the motorcycle were taken to a nearby hospital where they died from their injuries.
According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, a 2012 Harley-Davidson attempted to cross SC-410 from SC-19 while traveling northbound when it was struck by a 2016 Nissan SUV that was traveling eastbound on SC-410. The impact caused the motorcycle to spill into the roadway.
The driver of the Nissan sustained injuries and the vehicle’s three passengers suffered minor injuries; all were taken to the hospital. The sequence of movements and vehicle descriptions above are attributed to Ridgeway and the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s on-scene account.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. At this time reporting lists the fatalities and the transport of vehicle occupants to hospitals; law enforcement has not been quoted here on any determinations of fault or criminal charges.
