Coroner Identifies Man died in 2023 Myrtle Beach Pedestrian Crash
The Horry County coroner’s office has identified the man who was died after being struck by a vehicle in Myrtle Beach on May 27, 2023. Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said the collision occurred at about 10:30 p.m. near North Kings Highway, and the victim has been named as William Griffith, who was 62 at the time of his death.
Fatal motorcycle collision on Highway 501 in Horry County
A motorcycle rider was died Wednesday afternoon after a collision on Highway 501 near Dodge Lane in Horry County. Emergency crews from Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the crash at about 3:15 p.m., and the county coroner later reported blunt traumatic injuries as the cause of death.
State grant program directs victim-assistance funding to Horry County organizations
Horry County organizations will receive a portion of a statewide crime victim assistance allocation announced by the South Carolina Attorney General’s office. Attorney General Alan Wilson said the Department of Crime Victim Assistance grant is part of a larger $29 million fund and that 39 grants were awarded across the region.
