Temple to renovate Fire Stations 2 and 4 with just over $3 million

Temple Fire and Rescue approved a little over $3 million to renovate Fire Stations 2 and 4 in Temple, Texas. Station 2 was already under construction and Station 4 was pending a bid at a city council meeting on Sep. 28, 2026.
City officials planned exterior repairs to improve weatherproofing and expanded living quarters used by more than 18 firefighters who work 24-hour shifts. The projects also included dedicated rooms for bunker gear storage to reduce weather-related wear.
Fire officials said improved storage could help bunker gear reach its maximum usage time of 10 years.
The city awaited formal bid approval for Station 4.
