Suspect arrested after alleged vehicle break-ins, BB gun found in North Fort Myers

Lee County deputies arrested a man on a North Fort Myers property after residents reported he was breaking into multiple vehicles while armed with what appeared to be a replica firearm. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call and located the suspect on the property corner as described by the reporting parties.

According to the agency report, victims told deputies the man had entered unlocked vehicles and removed items including tools from a pickup, vehicle keys and an owner’s manual from several vehicles, and had spray-painted one truck. When one resident approached, the man was alleged to have brandished what looked like a replica gun. Deputies say they found a black BB gun on the scene after locating the suspect.

Deputies ordered the man to drop the weapon and attempted to take him into custody. The report states the suspect complied with the drop order but then rose and fled; deputies deployed a Taser, which they say incapacitated him and allowed for arrest. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office booked the man on multiple counts, including four counts of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, charges related to criminal mischief, an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge (without intent to cause death, per the report), and resisting arrest without violence.

The account above summarizes allegations and the agency’s documented actions; the charges listed reflect what the sheriff’s office reported at arrest and do not represent proven guilt in court.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
