Survivor of Miami‑area Amazon cargo plane crash sues operators and pilots

A survivor of last weekend’s Amazon cargo plane crash near Miami International Airport has filed a lawsuit against the pilots and companies involved, the filing says. The case was lodged in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit by Miami law firm Podhurst Orseck, which says it represents the injured survivor. The airplane was operated by 21 Air, a company reportedly controlled by Houston Astros owner Jim Crane through an LLC; records and interviews cited by the firm and others note prior safety complaints from senior staff who say they were dismissed after raising concerns. Five people were kll and five others were injured in the crash; the survivor named in the lawsuit remains hospitalized with critical injuries. The plaintiffs’ attorneys say they are conducting an independent investigation while monitoring the National Transportation Safety Board inquiry and are focused on protecting the survivor’s legal rights and securing resources for recovery; the family has requested privacy as he continues treatment.
