Surveillance video shows confrontation, then gunfire at Pompano Beach gas station
Broward County, Florida — A violent confrontation at a Pompano Beach gas station ended with gunfire, according to surveillance video and on-scene observations.
The incident occurred at the Orion gas station on E. Atlantic Boulevard, where video shows a man repeatedly assaulting a woman at the passenger door of a white Toyota SUV before a second man fired multiple shots from behind the vehicle.
Chronology in the footage begins with the woman seated inside the SUV as a man approaches and attempts to open both side doors, slams a window, pulls the woman out and strikes her multiple times while she fights back and repeatedly re-enters and locks the vehicle. After that altercation, the first man walks into the gas station.
He returns and walks in front of the SUV, at which point a man seated in the driver’s seat exits, appears to pump gas and then fires several rounds from behind the vehicle’s door. On-scene responders were visible in aerial footage taken before 3 p.m.; deputies surrounded the gas station and yellow police tape blocked the area.
The white Toyota remained at the scene with its passenger door open and six evidence markers were visible on the ground. Witnesses in a nearby food truck reported hearing four to six shots.
What is established on video and by deputies: there was a physical assault on a woman at the SUV and subsequent gunfire that struck at least one person on camera. Identities of those involved have not been released and no arrests or charges are documented in the supplied account.
The investigation was active at the scene with evidence markers and access restricted.
