The West Virginia Public Service Commission has directed the Gauley River Public Service District to execute an operation and management (O&M) agreement allowing West Virginia American Water to operate the system that supplies Mount Olive State Prison. The commission noted the O&M deal was first ordered more than two years ago and that Gauley River PSD appealed; the state Supreme Court rejected the appeal.

The PSC said the parties “have failed to execute and implement the O&M agreement ordered by the Commission despite numerous Commission directives” and demanded a joint status report within 10 days outlining an action plan to put the agreement into effect.
