Stabbing at Miami Northwestern High Sends Two Students to Hospital; School Lockdown Followed

A stabbing at Miami Northwestern Senior High in Liberty City Monday just before 12:30 p.m. sent two students to Jackson Memorial Hospital after Miami Fire Rescue crews responded to reports of an altercation. Responders found an 18-year-old who had been stabbed and transported him to Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition; a 15-year-old with a cut to his hand was also taken to the hospital and listed as stable. Video circulating online shows two students assaulting another student, and witnesses said the student who was attacked then pulled a knife and chased after one of the persons involved. School officials placed the campus on lockdown while authorities searched for the suspect; the investigation is ongoing. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
