St. Thomas University president steps down amid internal policy probe
St. Thomas University president David Armstrong resigned after being placed on leave during an internal investigation into alleged violations of university policy. University officials said Armstrong and the school mutually agreed to his departure after eight years leading the Miami Gardens institution; he became president in 2018. The university confirmed Armstrong had been on leave while the inquiry was underway and provided no further details about the allegations. Rev. Rafael Capó, the vice president for Mission and Ministry, will assume presidential duties during the transition as the school determines next steps.
