Single-vehicle crash sends car into creek on Coal River Road; one person declines transport
A vehicle left the roadway and entered a creek on Coal River Road near Funston Road in the West Side area of Kanawha County Sunday morning. The incident occurred just before 11:15 a.m.; emergency crews pulled the car from the creek and reopened the road just before noon.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reported one person sustained minor injuries but refused ambulance transport. Responding agencies included the KCSO and the West Side and Tornado Volunteer Fire Departments, and crews temporarily closed the road while recovery operations were underway.
