Second suspect arrested in July armed home invasion of paralyzed man in North Miami
Police arrested 32-year-old Brandon Marquez Flint on Tuesday in connection with an armed home invasion that targeted a paralyzed man at a North Miami apartment on July 9. Officers say the robbery occurred about 3:30 a.m.; an armed man identified as 27-year-old Jamarcus Malcolm Brooks forced his way through an open front door, pointed a black handgun and demanded money and Canna. According to the police report, Brooks forcibly removed the paralyzed victim from his motorized scooter, bound his hands with a USB charging cable, ransacked a bedroom and stole a black bank bag containing about $2,000 before fleeing out the rear as officers arrived. Brooks was arrested in July and, per his arrest report, admitted involvement in a plan to target the victim because he was known to have cash and Canna; Flint was later arrested as the investigation continued and authorities say the probe remains active. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
