Registered s3x offender charged with chld grooming after alleged contact in Lacy Lakeview

Lacy Lakeview police arrested a 36-year-old registered s3x offender after parents reported inappropriate contact with their 15-year-old daughter at the man’s home. The parents contacted officers on Aug. 7, prompting an affidavit by Lacy Lakeview Police Detective Tyler Ziegler that led to a chld grooming charge, a third-degree felony.
Investigators say the girl described cuddling, kissing, and being grabbed, and recounted s3xual comments during a forensic interview on Aug. 11. Detectives also reviewed video game party chat logs dated June 15 to July 24 that they say corroborate communications in which the suspect told the teenager he loved her.
When interviewed on Aug. 19, the suspect admitted to cuddling once and acknowledged calling her beautiful and saying he loved her, while denying kissing or inappropriate touching. Records show he is required to register as a s3x offender in Texas after a prior second-degree r@pe conviction in Oklahoma.
Judge West signed a warrant ordering custody so the defendant can face the charge in the 19th District Court in Waco. Current detention or trial status was not provided in the affidavit.
