Questions raised over missed go‑around before deadly Miami cargo plane overrun

Sunday’s deadly crash of an Amazon cargo plane at Miami International Airport is under scrutiny after investigators said the crew, employed by 21 Air, appears not to have executed a go‑around and instead overshot the runway. Pilots say a go‑around must be initiated before the aircraft touches down; Dao Chen, co‑owner of Dynasty Aviation at North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, told reporters it becomes too late once the plane contacts the runway. Excessive landing speed has been identified as a possible contributing factor. Chen said pilots are trained to consider a go‑around “constantly” and that initiating one is considered a safe decision; authorities continue to examine cockpit actions and what happens next in the investigation.
