Probation and restitution ordered in Toledo store theft case

Two former Dollar General employees received probation following theft convictions involving merchandise resold through Facebook Marketplace. The case concerned the Toledo store near Lewis and Alexis, with the reported losses approaching $44,000.
Court documents describe different penalties for the two defendants. Marsha Shultz received a felony theft conviction; her Sept. 30 sentence included probation lasting three years and restitution of $6,000. Stacey Leestema was convicted of misdemeanor theft. Her 180-day jail term was suspended, and she received two years of probation plus $1,000 in restitution.
The store manager told police that the scheme involved concealed merchandise and simulated checkout scans for accomplices. Investigators placed the thefts between May and August of 2025.
