Pompano Beach double shooting leaves one dead, another injured; suspect arrested
Broward County, Florida — A late-night shooting in Pompano Beach left one man dead and another injured, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they were dispatched after a report of gunfire in the Northwest Seventh Avenue shortly before midnight. Responding units from the sheriff’s office and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue went to the scene and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
On arrival, deputies and fire-rescue personnel located both victims. One man was pronounced dead at the scene; the second was treated for gunshot injuries by emergency personnel.
The sheriff’s office has not identified either individual. Investigators reported that a man was taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
