Pickup reported stolen in Key West recovered on Stock Island; suspect arrested
Local authorities report a pickup truck reported stolen in Key West was recovered abandoned on Stock Island and a suspect taken into custody. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the vehicle was last seen in Key West before an undisclosed area on Stock Island. Chronology provided by deputies indicates the vehicle was reported missing by the owner, who told deputies the truck was last seen in Key West. Key West Police located the an undisclosed area, and deputies later identified a suspect connected to the theft. The Monroe Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as a 36-year-old man who works at a business on Stock Island. Deputies say the man admitted to stealing the vehicle and was arrested.
