Pedestrian kll after being struck on Turnpike in Southwest Miami-Dade
A man was kll after being struck by a southbound vehicle early Wednesday on Florida’s Turnpike in Southwest Miami-Dade near mile marker 11. Florida Highway Patrol says the victim was standing outside his stopped vehicle on the right emergency shoulder when a southbound Honda Civic hit him; the man died at the scene. All southbound lanes were closed during the response and reopened by about 6:30 a.m. Troopers are investigating the crash; no charges have been announced and the investigation is ongoing. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
