Oregon man sentenced after December 6, 2025, fatal sh**ting in Oregon, Ohio

Ezekiel Ananias James received a prison sentence of 30–39.5 years on Oct. 2 in the case involving a fatal attack at an Oregon, Ohio, home. The case ended with a plea agreement covering involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault.
Lucas County prosecutors said James entered a no-contest plea on Sept. 18. His earlier indictment, issued Jan. 13, included aggravated m*rder, m*rder and felonious assault charges.
The woman died at a Crestway Drive residence on Dec. 6, 2025. Police reports say James initially described her death to officers and relatives as a suicide. He also acknowledged bringing the gun into the residence.
Court records placed his release from jail on Dec. 2, days before the fatal incident.
