One person found dead after third-floor apartment fire in northwest Miami-Dade
A third-floor apartment fire in northwest Miami-Dade Monday morning left one person dead, authorities said. Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 6:30 a.m. near Northwest 14th Avenue and Northwest 103rd Street and found the unit fully engulfed in flames, prompting deputies to evacuate residents on both the east and west sides of the building. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews extinguished the blaze and later discovered a fatality inside the apartment; the victim’s identity has not been released. The cause of the fire is unknown and detectives from the MDSO Homicide Bureau have taken over the investigation; no additional information has been released.
