One killed after multi-vehicle crash on I-79 South in Elkview
A fatal crash late Friday night on I-79 South in Elkview left one person dead, Kanawha County deputies say. The collision happened about 11:40 p.m. near mile marker 9 when a Silverado struck a dump truck parked in a construction zone. The Silverado driver was thrown from the vehicle and was later struck by another southbound car; deputies say the driver died at the scene. Authorities are not releasing the deceased driver's identity.
Two occupants of the second vehicle declined medical treatment. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
