On-duty FDLE agent shoots, kll person after altercation in southwest Miami-Dade
An on-duty Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent sh0t and kll a person near Southwest 157th Avenue and 140th Street at about 9:10 a.m. Thursday after the person approached the agent's vehicle, struck the car window and, investigators say, attacked the agent, throwing him to the ground. A City of Miami police officer and Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted life-saving measures and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue later pronounced the person dead at the scene. At FDLE’s request, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau is leading an ongoing investigation. The incident prompted a multi-hour lockdown at Jorge Mas Canosa Middle School, where students reported fear and videos showed classrooms sitting silently in the dark.
