Miami first responders mark 9/11 anniversary
Miami police and firefighters gathered Friday morning to honor the first responders who ran toward danger on Sept. 11. Attendees noted that 411 emergency workers never returned and said donning the uniform remains a reminder of that sacrifice. Miami Police Chief Edwin Lopez said the city sent 17 officers to assist in the days after the attacks and urged colleagues to keep the legacy of service alive. The ceremony emphasized ongoing commitment to protect and serve and to remember those lost.
