Miami firefighter recalls joining Florida task force at Ground Zero after Sept. 11
A City of Miami firefighter who watched the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks said he deployed to Ground Zero with Florida Task Force Two 48 hours later. He was part of the state urban search-and-rescue response that traveled to New York to assist in recovery operations. Today marks the 25th anniversary of those events, and he plans to spend time reflecting on the deployment and its impact. No injuries or charges are reported in connection with his service; he continues to be affiliated with the Miami fire department. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
