Miami Couple Held in Home Ransacking Case
A Miami couple, Geybert Alexander Garcia, 40, and Melany Perdomo, 24, have been held in pre-trial detention after being accused of breaking into the home of two men kll in a helicopter crash in Kenya. The couple, Garcia and Perdomo, are accused of stealing business documents, jewelry, luxury cars, and artwork, including a sculpture worth $500,000, from the home of Adam Hlavaty and Henry Parra. The couple was allegedly caught with the victims' personal belongings, Range Rover, and Porsche Taycan. In a pre-trial detention hearing, Judge Mindy Glazer upheld the initial decision to hold the couple without bond. Perdomo was also held on an immigration hold. The victims' friend claimed the couple had permission to enter the home, which was denied by the judge. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
