Marathon observes 25th anniversary of 9/11 with brief ceremony at Fire Station #14
Marathon held a remembrance event marking 25 years since the Sept. 11 attacks. The program began under an overcast sky that cleared as speakers conveyed messages of resilience and hope. Marathon Fire Inspector Mike Card opened the observance by ordering flags to be flown at half-staff and delivering preliminary remarks. The ceremony took place at Station #14 and featured additional tributes and reflections, according to Florida Keys Weekly.
