Man wanted in Louisiana arrested in Cape Coral on chld exploitation charges
A man wanted on an outstanding Louisiana warrant was arrested in Cape Coral after federal and local investigators located him at a retail center on Sept. 22. Cape Coral Police Department officers took custody of the suspect following a tip to an FBI task force officer, according to the agency.
The arrest followed coordination between the Cape Coral Police Department, the FBI New Orleans field office and the Louisiana State Police. Officers located the man at the Walmart Supercenter on Del Prado Boulevard and placed him into custody on the scene on Sept. 22.
Authorities allege the suspect, identified by the Cape Coral Police Department as Timothy Dalton Barnes, faces 27 counts of production of chld s3xual abuse material involving children under 13, one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, and one count of indecent behavior with juveniles. Those are allegations filed in Louisiana; the Cape Coral Police Department reports the arrest was made on an outstanding, full-extradition warrant from that state.
Barnes was booked into the Lee County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Louisiana, per the Cape Coral Police Department. No additional outcomes, injuries, or court actions were provided in the agency’s notice.
