Man seriously wounded in stabbing at Miami Government Center; suspect fled
A man was stabbed in the back and leg area Friday afternoon at Miami's Government Center and was taken to a trauma center, officials said. Miami Fire Rescue arrived at about 3:45 p.m., and City of Miami police officers and Miami‑Dade Sheriff's Office Government Services Bureau deputies later responded to the scene. Investigators say the victim got into a physical altercation with an unidentified man who produced a sharp object and then ran off in an unknown direction. The injured man was transported for treatment and is reported in stable condition; investigators have not released the suspect's identity or any charges and say the case remains under active investigation. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
