Man Found Hiding Under Doral Hotel Bed Arrested After Couple Discovers Him
A Doral couple discovered a man hiding under their hotel bed after waking to strange movement overnight. The pair checked into the room about 9 a.m. Wednesday and went to sleep; the woman said she felt movement near the bed in the early hours and again around 6:30 a.m., then about an hour later saw the man beneath the bed. The couple left the room and contacted property security. When a responding officer arrived, he located the man under the bed inside the bedroom and took him into custody on Thursday. Police say the man entered the occupied room by jumping a balcony fence and using a rear sliding glass door, then concealed himself under the bed while the guests slept. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Ritchel Calvaire of North Miami, had previously been a guest at the hotel and held two separate reservations; he remains in custody pending further investigation. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
