Man faces aggravated manslaughter charge after toddler found unresponsive at Miami apartment

Miami police arrested Richie Jonathan Gregoire on May 21 after executing a search warrant at an apartment and seizing about 69 grams of suspected Fent from a bedroom. Investigators have charged Gregoire with aggravated manslaughter in connection with a toddler who was found unresponsive at the home in early January; the chld was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities say a Ring camera recorded the chld ingesting substances left inside an unlocked room, and a Miami-Dade medical examiner’s autopsy detected Fent and a trace of Co. Caine in the chld’s blood. The chld’s mother was previously arrested and also charged with aggravated manslaughter; the investigation remains active. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
