Man charged with second‑degree murder after woman found stabbed in Brickell high‑rise

Miami police say officers answered a 4:45 a.m. call Friday to the Solitair Brickell high‑rise on Southwest 8th Street where a woman was found with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives took 36‑year‑old Stefano Cremas‑Cocicero and a witness to the homicide office; the arrest report quotes him saying, “I was defending myself.” Cremas‑Cocicero was charged with second‑degree murder with a weapon, a judge denied bond at his initial court appearance Saturday, and he has an active U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold. Investigators say Cremas‑Cocicero and his wife have been on the apartment lease since July 2024 and that he lives in Miami on an investor visa; a witness who had been delivering food told officers Cremas‑Cocicero opened the lobby door, asked her to call 911 and appeared to have blood on him. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
