Man arrested in Miami Beach after roommate reports being fired upon outside apartment
Miami Beach police arrested a 26-year-old man after his roommate told officers he was sh0t at while leaving their shared apartment on Bonita Drive. According to the arrest report, the roommate said he had picked the suspect up from work earlier and returned to the residence before leaving the area; the roommate then drove back to take the suspect to a hospital and saw the suspect exit the apartment with a firearm in his pocket. As the roommate attempted to drive away, the suspect allegedly removed the gun, pointed it at the vehicle, ran toward the car and fired multiple times, striking the vehicle’s rear window. Officers located and detained the suspect at the apartment a short time later. Police recovered one handgun on the suspect’s person, a second gun inside a bookbag and a small bag of Canna, per the arrest report. The arresting agency booked the suspect into the county jail on attempted murder and Canna possession charges. The facts in the report distinguish alleged actions from established findings: the roommate’s account to police is the basis for the attempted-murder allegation; recovered weapons and the Canna possession are documented by officers at the scene. The report does not provide medical or forensic findings about sh0ts fired beyond damage to the vehicle’s rear window described by the victim. The jail record entry shows the suspect appeared before a judge and was ordered held without bond; the court also imposed a no-contact restriction with the roommate. The case remains an active criminal matter handled through Miami-Dade law enforcement and the county court system. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
