Man Arrested for Alleged Abduction Attempt and DUI in Sweetwater

A 35-year-old man, Jesus Hernandez, was arrested in Sweetwater, Florida, after being accused of chasing two juveniles with his car and attempting to strike them. The incident began when an off-duty police detective approached two juveniles who reported that Hernandez, driving a blue Hyundai, tried to lure them into his vehicle in a parking lot. Police responded, and Hernandez was found inside the Royal Flagler complex. Officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol on Hernandez’s breath and slurred speech. The victims, who were trembling and crying, reported that Hernandez gestured for them to come over, and he later made a U-turn and accelerated at high speeds, causing his tires to screech. Hernandez was charged with DUI and attempted abduction, and the case is ongoing. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
