Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery with Weapon After Racial Slurs and Assault

A 32-year-old man from Hialeah, Lesmar Roberto Cruzata Vidal, was arrested in North Miami Beach after he attacked another man with a glass beer bottle and a metal water bottle, following a verbal altercation involving racial slurs. The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. at an undisclosed hostel. The victim, who had been living at the hostel for about six months, reported that Cruzata Vidal called him a racial slur and struck him with a glass bottle, resulting in a severe laceration to his right cheek. Cruzata Vidal was charged with aggravated battery with a weapon with prejudice. The victim asked Cruzata Vidal if he was speaking to him, and Cruzata Vidal confirmed, leading to the altercation. Police responded to the scene and arrested Cruzata Vidal, who was taken into custody. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
