Man arrested after woman found stabbed to death in Brickell high-rise
Miami police arrested a 36-year-old man Friday morning and charged him with second-degree murder after a woman was found dead inside his Brickell apartment. Officers were called to the building shortly after 4:45 a.m.; when they went to the 47th floor they found a woman lying on her side, fully clothed and covered in blood with multiple stab wounds. Investigators say the suspect had blood on his shoes, clothes and hands and that he and the victim knew each other; the man told police he was defending himself. Police used building surveillance video in the investigation and took the man into custody; the case is being investigated by Miami police and will proceed through the court system. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
