Man arrested after woman falls from trunk of speeding car on S. Dixie Highway
Miami-Dade deputies say they arrested a man Saturday after a woman fell from the trunk of a speeding vehicle and struck her head on the roadway. Investigators responded around 8:40 a.m. to the S. Dixie Highway area and found the woman lying face down; she was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Surveillance video reviewed by deputies reportedly shows the suspect and the woman arriving at the location, the woman on the trunk, and the vehicle then accelerating at a high rate of speed, causing her to fall. Deputies arrested Ismel Baro‑Rodriguez on a charge of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. The investigation is ongoing. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
