Man arrested after allegedly returning to workplace and taking about 30 iPads
A Hialeah man was arrested after police say he returned to a Sweetwater courier warehouse the same day he was fired and removed two boxes containing roughly 30 iPads. Investigators say the theft occurred on Sept. 4; eyewitnesses and surveillance footage allegedly identified the suspect, who reportedly arrived in a white Chevrolet Equinox and wore a face covering. Detectives say the suspect sold five of the devices at a Hialeah pawn shop about two hours after the theft. Sweetwater officers arrested the 43-year-old at his home Wednesday morning; he is being held on burglary and grand theft charges at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with bond listed as “to be set.” All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
