Man arrested after allegedly pointing realistic-looking gun during Miami parking dispute

Miami police arrested Ludvin Raul Gallopena after investigators say he pointed what appeared to be a firearm and threatened a motorist during an argument over a parking space outside a supermarket on Aug. 15. Officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. to the area of Northwest 17th Avenue and Northwest 30th Street; the victim told detectives Gallopena pulled a black gun from his vehicle, aimed it at him and threatened to shoot, causing the victim to fear for his life. Police say Gallopena then went into the store and later left in a gray Honda Pilot; detectives obtained recorded statements from the victim and a witness. Gallopena was arrested Thursday and booked on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and improper exhibition of a weapon; the case is pending further court proceedings. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
