Man arrested after alleged drunken disturbance at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
Broward County, Florida — A 32-year-old man was arrested inside Terminal 3 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after deputies say he caused a disturbance near the women’s restroom.
Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies took the man into custody around 10:15 p.m. Sunday and charged him with disorderly intoxication, according to the agency. BSO says an airport employee alerted a deputy on duty to a commotion by the restrooms.
Upon approaching, the deputy found the man standing in the threshold to the women’s bathroom and observed his clothing to be wet. The man told the deputy there was urine throughout the restroom; that statement and the deputy’s observations are documented in the arrest report as allegations made to investigators.
Deputies asked the man to walk outside and sit down, and BSO reports he became verbally irate and began yelling. The agency says those actions led to him being placed in handcuffs and arrested.
An alleged statement the man made while inside a squad car appears in the arrest record but has been redacted in the report provided by the sheriff’s office. As of Monday night, BSO records show the suspect was being held at the North Broward Bureau jail on a $150 bond.
These details reflect law-enforcement allegations and reported custody status from the Broward Sheriff’s Office; investigative findings and any court outcomes were not included in the agency’s report.
