Man accused of using fake ID to steal Rolex from Pompano Beach condo
A Hollywood man is accused of presenting counterfeit identity documents to a FedEx driver at a Pompano Beach condominium on May 13 to steal a $7,190 Rolex Datejust, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies said. Hollywood police arrested him Wednesday on grand theft and identity theft charges. Authorities say the arrest follows a May 14 incident in Doral in which he is suspected of stealing a $53,500 Rolex and an earlier downtown Miami attempt to fraudulently retrieve another package; Miami-Dade court records show the only remaining charge there is possessing or making equipment to counterfeit driver’s licenses. He did not appear in Broward jail records as of Friday; further prosecution will be handled by the appropriate county authorities. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
