Man accused of trying to run down delivery driver at police HQ, then striking shopper at nearby Aldi
Miami Gardens police say a 44-year-old man is facing two attempted murder charges after officers say he drove at a food delivery worker outside the police department headquarters around 8 p.m., struck a metal handrail and fled. About an hour later, investigators say the same driver struck a customer walking into an Aldi. The defendant called 911 roughly two hours after the first incident and admitted to police, who arrested him and charged him with two counts of attempted murder. No further injury details were released; the case is with Miami Gardens authorities pending prosecution. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
