Jury convicts man in Palm Beach fatal chase and shooting

A jury in Palm Beach County has found a man guilty in connection with a May 2023 chase that ended in a deadly crash and shooting in Palm Beach. The Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office announced the verdict against Quinton Henderson Jr., who was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.

Prosecutors presented evidence that on May 9, 2023, Henderson was driving a BMW SUV with two armed accomplices while pursuing and firing at a Volkswagen SUV in Palm Beach. The chase culminated when the BMW struck a pole, ejecting an occupant from the vehicle; that occupant later died. The State Attorney’s Office tied Henderson to the vehicle and the pursuit during the trial.

Palm Beach County State Attorney Alexcia Cox announced the jury’s decision following the case. The convictions reflect the jury’s findings based on the evidence introduced at trial; the office charged Henderson with the homicide and the attempted death counts prior to trial.

At this time the documented status is that Henderson has been found guilty of first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. Agency statements and courtroom findings, as reported by the State Attorney’s Office, provide the basis for the sequence of events and the criminal determinations made by the jury.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
